Jerson Samson
Jerson Samson (born January 16, 1976) is a distinguished contemporary Filipino visual artist known for his evocative paintings and sculptures that explore the intersections of daily life, religion, and the human psyche. Based in Antipolo, Rizal, he is the eldest of the talented Samson brothers—including Reynaldo, Julius, and Jaypee—all of whom have established significant presence in the Philippine art scene.
Samson studied at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting. Although he initially failed his first talent test due to his meticulous nature, he succeeded a year later in 1994. By 1998, he transitioned into a full-time artist after completing his thesis. His early environment in Antipolo deeply influenced his work, often depicting the domestic interior scenes and bustling neighborhood activities of common Filipino families.
