We are all familiar with the term Abstract Expressionism but what does it mean, and where did it originally come from?

Abstract Expressionist or New York School. It started after the 2nd World War with a group of New York artists innovating how we see and express art today. Their artistic philosophy is a visual representation of emotional expression. Their works encourage their viewer to discover their own emotions unveiling human irrationality and vulnerability.

New York School has two distinct styles: the chaotic action painting and the meditative color field painting. Two very distinct styles that Oliver Marquez managed to combine harmoniously on one canvas, the thick dynamic strokes with the clever use of a warm color pallet.
