ARTIST PROFILE
Teody C. Racuya was born on January 30, 1976, in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. He is the youngest of four children of Loreto Racuya, one of today’s respected masters in Philippine art. His mother, Roselie, is also an art enthusiast and a discerning critic who encouraged and nurtured the artistic inclinations of her children. Teody developed an early affinity for art, spending much of his formative years in his father’s studio, where his talent and passion for painting were cultivated. Following in his father’s footsteps, he pursued Fine Arts, majoring in Painting, at the Philippine Women’s University in Philippine Women’s University Fine Arts, Major in Painting 1993

Teody Racuya is a sought-after Filipino realist painter whose works are rooted in academic realism while embracing a modernistic approach. His paintings are distinguished by vibrant colors, expressive brushwork, and a freer atmosphere, creating a distinctive fusion of realism and modernism. As a left-handed painter, Teody has developed a personal and recognizable approach to painting. His works often portray Filipino life, people, landscapes, and everyday experiences with a strong sense of atmosphere and emotion. He is a veteran of numerous group exhibitions and has continually expanded his artistic practice through local and international exhibitions.
