Robert Nubla (“Robie”) is a self-taught Filipino visual artist born on August 15, 1955, in Tondo, Manila. Without formal art education, he honed his skills through apprenticeships in various art studios, which laid the foundation for his artistic journey
ubla’s artworks are deeply influenced by his experiences living in diverse locales such as Tondo, Iloilo, Parañaque, Bacolod, and Manila. His paintings often depict scenes from Filipino rural life, including boat rides, farmers at work, rice fields, nipa huts, nature landscapes, children, and women. He is proficient in both oil and watercolor mediums.
