Ombok Villamor

Ombok Villamor (b. 1979) | Samar, Philippines

Rustom Cleofe “Ombok” Villamor is a contemporary Filipino artist known for his organic abstractions that echo the rhythm of nature. Drawing inspiration from his roots in Samar, Ombok’s work often reflects marine life, natural textures, and cosmic energy—translating the unseen forces of the world into vibrant visual language.

Originally trained in architecture at North West Samar State University, he began his career as a graphic artist before fully committing to the visual arts. Over time, his distinctive style has emerged—characterized by fluid forms, intricate layering, and a luminous palette that conveys both movement and serenity.

Villamor has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across the Philippines, including major shows at Galerie Joaquin and Galerie Raphael. His work has been featured at leading art fairs such as ManilArt and at regional biennales like VIVA EXCON. He has also been recognized in national art competitions, including the GSIS Art Competition and the ArtPetron National Student Art Competition.

Whether working in acrylic on canvas or sculpting in brass, Ombok captures the interplay between life, matter, and the sublime. For him, art is not just visual—it is experiential, a space where viewers are invited to explore the mystery and fluidity of existence.
