Jerry Morada

Jerry Morada is a renowned Filipino artist and sculptor celebrated for his evocative marble and wood creations that intertwine Philippine cultural heritage with contemporary artistry.

Born on April 19, 1979, in Paete, Laguna—a town famed for its woodcarving traditions—Morada was immersed in art from a young age. Under the guidance of his father, Julian, a skilled woodcarver, he began crafting figurines in elementary school, earning modest sums that contributed to his school expenses. This early exposure honed his understanding of human anatomy and proportion, foundational elements that would later define his artistic style.

Morada pursued formal studies at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in Diliman. There, he delved into various disciplines, including sculpture under Professor Froilan Madriñon, and art history with Professor Ruben Defeo. To support his education, he undertook diverse roles, from creating sculptures for classmates to part-time figure modeling.
