Bullet Dematera

Ronald “Bullet” Dematera is a contemporary Filipino visual artist known for his surrealist and hyperrealist style. His work often explores the delicate relationship between humanity and nature, weaving intricate narratives that feature animals, flora, and human figures.

He masterfully blends realism and pop art to create dreamlike, symbolic compositions. His technique involves meticulous layering of graphite, acrylic, and oil on canvas.

His pieces frequently utilize animal motifs—such as tigers, birds, and horses—as metaphors for strength, freedom, and resilience.

A self-taught artist from Bulacan, Dematera did not receive a formal art education. He honed his skills through experience, starting as a studio assistant and later serving as an apprentice for nearly 10 years under the renowned artist Ronald Ventura.

Dematera’s work is deeply autobiographical, often reflecting his personal journey and the “silent chaos” of the human experience.
