Ronald Castrillo
Ronald Castrillo is a renowned Filipino sculptor celebrated for his exceptional ability to transform metal into expressive, three-dimensional artworks. Born on June 3, 1964, in Makati City, he was introduced to the world of art at a young age by his father, Amado Castrillo, a respected writer, illustrator, and sculptor. Under his father’s guidance, Ronald began honing his artistic skills at the age of ten in their family workshop, starting with simple sketches and gradually progressing to intricate sculptures.
Ronald’s educational background in aeronautical engineering, with a major in aircraft design from PATTS School of Aeronautics, provided him with a unique perspective on form and structure. This technical expertise is evident in his meticulous approach to sculpting, where he skillfully manipulates metals such as brass, bronze, steel, and iron to create dynamic and fluid forms.
