Henry Ordoña
Henry Ordoña is a celebrated Filipino visual artist renowned for his hyperrealistic depictions of rural life in the Philippines. Born on January 10, 1970, he resides in Malolos, Bulacan. Despite lacking formal academic training, Ordoña honed his craft under the mentorship of painter Miguelito Galvez and further developed his understanding of lighting and composition through studies with Nilo Badajos.
Ordoña’s artwork is characterized by its technical precision and emotional resonance. His paintings often portray Filipino farmers and countryside scenes with a sense of joy and hope, drawing inspiration from the romanticized rural depictions of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo. This approach aims to uplift viewers, conveying messages of optimism and resilience.
His portfolio includes notable works such as “Rice Harvest,” “Awit 67:6,” “Harana,” and “The Garden Bridge.” These pieces are celebrated for their vivid imagery and the use of natural and backlighting techniques that enhance the realism and emotional impact of his subjects.
