Fhiex Orozco
Fhiex Orozco, born on April 24, 1987, in Laguna, is an artist who started sculpting in 2010. He began pursuing art when he had enough scraps and metal materials to experiment with. Fhiex’s artwork primarily revolves around Greek mythology and mythical creatures such as dragons, which have fascinated him for years.
Before starting any piece, Fhiex looks for guidance from God to help him successfully create the image in his mind. To create his sculptures, he uses cutleries and other found objects, carefully heating the metals to soften them enough to shape and balance with his pulse, heart, and mind.
Fhiex’s journey as an artist has been a learning curve, from manually heating the materials with fire to learning the art of welding, bending, and manipulating the softened metals to achieve the desired shape.
For Fhiex, art is about learning and testing limits and boundaries to determine how far our imagination can take us. He believes that without this philosophy, we can never discover our true potential as artists and humans.
