Elias Pernecita
Arch. Elias Evardone Pernecita Jr. is a talented artist and architect who was born on August 29, 1965, in San Juan City. He studied Architecture at Far Eastern University. He has made significant contributions to the architectural industry, including his noteworthy restoration of Corregidor’s heritage structures and rehabilitating the Bureau of Quarantine’s facade.
Aside from his architectural accomplishments, Elias is also a brilliant visual artist. He started painting as a way to express himself and alleviate stress. He describes his art style as a mix of surrealism and expressionism, and his inspiration comes from his own self-reflection observing other people.
Elias uses permanent inks and acrylic paint to create his masterpieces. His works feature multi-surrealistic characters with large observant eyes, juxtaposed with playful colors and actions. Through his art, he aims to convey how closely anxiety and humor are intertwined. He believes that acknowledging their existence is crucial to living comfortably with them, as they are an integral part of being human.
