SUMMARY:Storylines
DESCRIPTION:STORYLINE:\nIn an age where images are consumed in seconds and meaning is often reduced to what fits a screen\, Storyline returns to a quieter\, more deliberate act: The Art of Storytelling.\n\nThis exhibition is built on the belief that artworks are not meant to exist in isolation. Like chapters in a book\, each piece gains depth when seen in relation to others—through context\, sequence\, and intention. Storyline invites viewers to slow down\, to move beyond passive looking\, and to engage with art as part of a larger narrative shaped through careful curation.\n\nHere\, artists approach their work as storytellers. Each draws from a distinct literary genre\, not merely as inspiration\, but as a framework for meaning-making. Together\, their works form a collective narrative that unfolds across time\, imagination\, memory\, and reflection—reminding us that stories have always been how humans understand the world\, long before they were compressed into a scrollable feed.\n\nArtists & Narrative GenresAnachronistic — Ramil Villas | Villas disrupts linear time\, merging historical references with contemporary elements. His works suggest that memory and history are not fixed\, but constantly rewritten through the present.\n\nEpic Fantasy — Lemuel Cunanan | Cunanan constructs expansive visual worlds that echo grand journeys and imagined realms—stories of movement\, struggle\, and purpose that unfold across vast landscapes.\n\nMythological — Melchor Bernaldo | Bernaldo draws from myth and folklore\, reintroducing archetypal figures that speak to belief\, power\, and collective memory—stories that persist across generations.\n\nLiterary Fiction — Kit Santos | Santos focuses on intimate\, human-centered narratives. His works explore social nuance and emotional depth\, reflecting stories that feel lived\, observed\, and quietly unfolding.\n\nFables — Leo Robles | Robles embraces simplicity and symbolism\, creating works that appear childlike yet carry layered meanings—visual fables that speak to both innocence and insight.

SUMMARY:Manuel D. Baldemor's EUROPEAN JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY
DESCRIPTION:*24 Artworks | Period Pieces | Paete Pride\, Thomasian Heart\nIn 1975\, Manuel Baldemor left the familiar streets of Paete to embark on his first journey across Europe. What began as a simple exploration became a lifelong pursuit—a quest to see\, to learn\, and to translate the world into his own visual language.\nEach work in this collection is more than a landscape or a scene; it is a captured moment of wonder and reckoning. Baldemor’s brush records not only the monuments of medieval Europe but also the artist’s personal epiphany: that the world is vast\, layered\, and fragile. His paintings chronicle the dialogue between past and present\, faith and conquest\, loss and rediscovery.\nFirst published during the Quadricentennial Celebration of the University of Santo Tomas\, these works stand as period pieces that mark a pivotal era in the artist’s career. Today\, they return to the gallery wall\, only 24 of them\, rare and irreplaceable —to invite us once more to journey with him.\nBaldemor remains a proud son of Paete and a proud Thomasian\, his work serving as a bridge between his local roots and global horizons. This exhibition is both an intimate memoir and a celebration of Filipino artistry that has found its place in the world

SUMMARY:What Women Want
DESCRIPTION:Kit Santos\, an artist\, was once inspired by the idea of beauty and luxury depicted in vintage advertisements. However\, upon careful examination\, he realized that women had been objectified and beauty was advertised to please men. This realization led him to question whether men dictate the standard of femininity. \nAs an artist\, Kit’s love for storytelling slowly painted a different picture of women with the same allure of vintage designs. He fused his style to show women’s confidence in their skin\, careers\, and intelligence. He portrayed women who proudly showed themselves without conforming to what the world tells them to be. From women taking the initiative of courtship to celebrating their success with expensive bags and champagne to the loving wife who happily makes dinner\, they are proud of their choices\, no matter how simple or luxurious. \nThe quote by David Henry Hwang\, “Only a man knows how a woman is supposed to act\,” delivered powerfully in the 1993 film M. Butterfly\, sent a series of questions and inspired him to question this philosophy. It is important to break free from the societal norms and expectations we have been conditioned to believe in and embrace our true selves. It is important to be true to want we want.

SUMMARY:Women in Art
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the exhibit ‘Women of Art’\, a celebration of the contributions that women have made to the art scene. Women have brought a unique perspective and fresh ideas to the world of art\, which has often been dominated by men. This exhibit aims to showcase the works of female artists who have challenged the status quo and made a significant impact in the art world. \nWomen have proven time and again that they are more than capable of creating masterful works of art. Their contributions to the world of art have been invaluable\, and their creativity and talent have been celebrated for centuries. Through their art\, they have challenged stereotypes and broken down barriers\, proving that gender is no barrier to creativity and excellence. Women artists have inspired change and given a voice to the voiceless\, and their legacy serves as an inspiration to future generations of artists. \nFeatured in this exhibit are Tish Alcantara\, Ella Hipolito\, Garibay\, Nikka Dizon\, Bernardino and Quito\, all of whom have made a significant impact in the art world with their unique vision and ideas. Each artist brings a different perspective to the table\, from Tish Alcantara’s neo art nouveau paintings to Ella Hipolito’s environmental metal sculptures. Garibay’s bold and unhinged expressionist works\, Nikka Dizon’s surreal stories of imagination\, Bernardino’s sculptures of mystical creatures portraying strength and beauty. Quito’s portrayal of the female form all make for a diverse and thought-provoking exhibit. We hope you enjoy this exhibit and leave with a newfound appreciation for the contributions that women have made to the art world.
